YHVH is the personal name of God. The Jews refrained from uttering the name for fear of misusing it. But, what does it mean?

John 1:1 tells us the Word existed from the start, was with God, and was God. We know the Word to be Jesus, but let’s look at the meaning behind the name.
One of the Hebrew names for God is ‘EL’. In English we understand it simply as God, but in Hebrew, it is much more. It is a description of who God is.
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. ~ Isaiah 7:14
